What is the difference between Documents and Portal files?

'Documents' and 'Portal files' may sound similar, but the two serve a different purpose.

Short answer: the main difference is the way the documents are uploaded. Both of them need to be uploaded to the Platform:

• Documents have be added to the regular 'Documents' section in the Platform.
• Portal files have be added to a specific widget in the 'Portal' section in the Platform.
