Change the legal form

Learn how to go from one legal form to another without losing information.

The process of changing the legal form of a legal entity can be approached in two distinct ways, based on the presence of securities or governing bodies associated with the entity.

To change the legal form to a currently unknown legal form in your silo, first create a dummy entity with the desired legal form (using a custom legal form), then you can delete this dummy entity after creation.

1) With assets (securities or governing bodies)

When you have already added securities (such as a share register) or governing bodies (such board of directors), you want to prevent information getting lost when you change the legal form.

Important: a 'change legal form' cannot be reversed. Treat this feature with caution!

2) Without assets (securities or governance bodies)

You can easily adjust the legal form of an entity without any assets.
